The theatre "Pietra Rosa”
In Pollina, a panoramic point on the Madonie mountains
a small jewel nestled in the urban fabric
The open-air Theatre “Pietra Rosa” in Pollina owes its name to the characteristic colour of the stone used for its construction and of the mountain on which the village stands.
Built in 1979 by the Venetian architect Foscari at the foot of the medieval tower of the Ventimiglia Castle, the theatre is a stage for suggestive sensations. The magnificent view of the Madonie mountains is the setting of one of the most enchanting performances that nature can stage: the sunset over the Mediterranean. A poetic feeling of floating between sea and land, air and water. Each view from here is a succession of emotions. A jewel perfectly integrated into the urban fabric. The theatre in summer is a location for plays, performances and events.
